I have an iPad mini and I just downloaded the Nikon wifi app that says "for iPhones only", which i also have on my iPhone but it works just fine on iPads. ![]() When will Nikon develop a download program for PC's? Since WIFi capability is a big marketing/selling point for the d5300 it should already be available. It's great that I can download pic via wifi on my mobile devices, but I hate downloading so many pics on a small device that has less memory and is slower then my PC to begin with. Unless you're an Android of course! Most of the time, the Apple apps take priority. I also hate that there is no iPad app which should be the first thing they should have made. After doing the update to the 'Stable' version it doesnt work anymore. A lot more is possible when you use a cable basically. Nikon's wireless solution is pretty limited, but you can also use the camera with DslrDashboard on Android devices via a micro USB cable, or if you connect it via the supplied USB cable to a desktop computer, you can do things like tethered shooting (transferring pictures to the computer and viewing them at full size as you shoot). You can get extra functionality out of a D5300 though by using Nikon's wireless app or by plugging it directly into a smartphone or computer via a cable. There is only the firmware onboard, and hacks thereof. Another question, can you use apps or are there apps that you could download to your D5300? Nikon only support transferring images to mobile devices, which connect to the camera as if it's a wireless router. There might be third party software that can, but I haven't seen any. At least, Nikon doesn't provide any software to do that yet. Can you transfer your pictures to your computer by wireless? Journal, a new iPhone app available today, helps users reflect and practice gratitude through journaling, which has been shown to improve wellbeing. ![]()
